Grudge bearing is something I have always had to struggle against and I don’t underestimate how difficult it is to let something go.

Well from the Theosophical point of view, it goes like this:-.

You enter a tit for tat war of attrition with your “opponent”, which will be carried on from life to life. This called a Karmic account. What happens is this – you probably won’t get even in this life but the negative energy of your intention will mean that you will get even in a future life. In an even later life you opponent may well come back at you. This situation can continue until one of you lets it go.

While locked into this Karmic account, your spiritual development is put on hold and drops to the level of your opponent. Any attempt at spiritual development is sabotaged.

Most Religions say “Let it go”

So there you are. It’s up to you.
